ARTICLE VII - EXPENSES


1. The Publisher will pay necessary and actual expenses incurred in the service of the Publisher of employees covered by this Agreement as and when authorized by the Publisher. A written claim therefore will be presented to the Publisher within one week after the expenditure has been made.

2. Necessary working equipment will be provided to employees and paid for by the Publisher.

3. The use of an automobile in the service of the Publisher will be compensated for as follows:

A. An employee authorized to use his or her automobile on a regular daily basis will be compensated for such use at the rate of 26 cents per mile or $10, whichever is greater, for the first 50 miles in one week and beyond 50 miles in one week: 27 cents per mile in the first year of the contract, 28 cents per mile in the second year of the contract and 29 cents per mile in the third year of the contract. Compensation will be paid only when the automobile is actually used in the service of the Publisher for the term of this Agreement. An employee requiring compensation will itemize in writing the dates and the destination of his or her automobile trips in the service to the Publisher.

B. An employee using his or her automobile on an irregular basis in the service of the Publisher will be compensated for at the prevailing rate per mile as determined above.
